Goth bands
In the start of the Goth music in the 1970's, Goth bands like Siouxsie & the Banshees, Bauhaus, Kommunity FK , Specimen, the Damned, Ausgang, 45 Grave, UK Decay, Southern Death Cult, Alien Sex Fiend, The Virgin Prunes and Christian Death were considered to be the pioneers. Some other bands like The Cure, Joy Division, This Mortal Coil, Killing Joke, Dead Can Dance, etc. have also been associated with the Goth music by some people.
Around the mid eighties, this form of music began picking up and saw the coming of bands like The Sisters of Mercy, The Mission, The Bolshoi, Xmal Deutschland and Fields of Nephilim. These bands grew a lot in the next decade and also this time also documented formation of bands like Factory Records, 4AD Records and Beggars Banquet Records. One important transition in the 90's is that, even though the Goth music started in Europe, these new bands released most of their music in the United States, especially in the Orange County, New York, Los Angeles and California. The success of bands like 4AD inspired a US Goth band called Projekt Records.
Recently, there is a resurrection of the early positive punk and death rock sound with bands like the Dead Ice, Bloody Dead and Cinema Strange.
